Preparing for a Computerized Embroidery Business in the Philippines

computerized embroidery philippines

Were you one of the students who enjoyed sewing classes before? You did? Well, maybe sewing is your calling. Traditional sewing and embroidery is a therapeutic but really tiring job. Thanks to computerized embroidery machines in the Philippines, your hobby of making garment designs could lead you on a path of a successful business.

Embroidery as a form of art, in addition, is a good method of self-expression. It is like drawing out ideas with the use of needles and colorful threads. But like any other art form, it requires strong passion and dedication that needs to remain constant from start to finish. It is the secret to a beautiful embroidery product, and a computerized embroidery machine can easily duplicate each design. In the Philippines, computerized embroidery is a growing business. And if you are interested in turning embroidery into a business, here is what you need to know and be prepared for.

Computerized embroidery machine

Of course, you won’t be able to do computerized embroidery without a machine. The machine is the first investment you will need. The process involves six functional activities.

First is to digitize design using specialized software. The design could be a printed layout or in a digital format like EPS or bitmap. Once the design is done, it is then converted into a file format readable to the embroidery machine. The final design file could be imported via USB stick or cable connected from the computer. By the time the machine’s done reading the file format, you will need to teach the machine how to sew the design. It includes identifying needles by numbers threaded accordingly to different thread colors. It is carefully done with the help of the embroidery design software’s provided schedule to when a specific thread color is needed. When the schedule is done, the fabric is hooped and framed into the machine’s arm slot. Like the traditional embroidery ring, the hoop is used to reduce possible movement during the stitching process. Lastly, when everything is prepared, run the machine until the design is finished. However, using a machine doesn’t mean you leave all the work done robotically, human effort is still needed functionally.

Creativity is your limit

Of all the existing creative embroidery designs today, taking a playful step is important. It isn’t bad to be different. Think of ways on how you could play with the multi-colored fabrics and threads. One way is through colors—pastel-colored threads plays well with black fabric. It is a good chance to let your design speak for it. In addition, you don’t have to start doing complex designs that you cannot finish well. Remember that the quality of your work doesn’t only depend on the complexity of designs but how well you maintain the effort good enough from the beginning until the end. With this, it is important to know that as you invest in a computerized embroidery machine, threads and fabric, you’re setting yourself up for the bigger opportunity of monetizing sewing and embroidery in the Philippines.
